- The "Taiwan PASS Taiwan Railways" is an essential travel e-ticket for exploring Taiwan. It covers three major transportation tools in Taiwan, including unlimited five-day travel on Taiwan Railways, a choice of one out of four major metro systems, and a choice of one Taiwan Tour Bus route, making travel for independent travelers more time-efficient, cost-effective, and convenient.
※ Usage Instructions for the "Taiwan PASS | Taiwan Railways Five-Day Pass " ※
- Redemption Period: Please redeem at one of the 18 designated Taiwan Railways stations within one year of purchase.
- Redemption Stations: Taitung, Hualien, Luodong, Yilan, Nangang, Songshan, Taipei, Banqiao, Taoyuan, Zhongli, Hsinchu, Taichung, Xinwuri, Chiayi, Tainan, Zuoying, Kaohsiung, Fangliao – a total of 18 stations.
- Children who are 150 cm or taller must purchase an adult ticket. (However, if they are 150 cm or taller but under 12 years old, they may purchase a child ticket, but must present identification at the Taiwan Railways ticket counter for verification.)
- Children who are 115 cm or taller but under 150 cm must purchase a child ticket.
- Children who are under 115 cm and under 6 years old can enter for free after presenting identification and passing verification.
1. Taiwan Railways | Five-Day Pass (TR-PASS)
After activating the Taiwan PASS, unlimited rides on Taiwan Railways are allowed within 5 days.
A start date can be specified (must be used within 30 days of redemption, including the day of redemption), allowing unlimited rides on Taiwan Railways within 5 consecutive days.
- Different Usage on Different Train Types:
- Free seating (no seat reservation required): Local (Fast) Trains
- Standing tickets (without any prior seat reservation at the ticket window): Tze-Chiang Limited Express, Chu-Kuang Express.
- Seat reservation required (can only be used after making a reservation): Puyuma Express, Taroko Express, Tze-Chiang (EMU3000), Group Trains.
- Cannot be used instead of seat reservations or direct boarding on the following trains; violators will be treated as ticketless passengers according to the company's passenger transport contract: Tourist Trains, Cruise-Style Trains, Real-Name Trains, Special Trains, other trains designated by the company, and the company's "Business Class Carriages" and Premium Carriages "e.g., Tze-Chiang (EMU3000) Business Class Carriage".
